So, I should come back and finish my review. I'm just going to do it.
haha it's been ages, since i've written a review so here goes.
Kris and I walked into the theatre, the look of Kris' face was priceless when she saw the ticket and where we were sitting.
FRONT ROW CENTRE.
ha.
We bought the souvenir book and program and flicked through that joking there was no slip inside to say Tasha was going to be on. I swear my heart was like "Poo, did i get the week wrong?"
The whole idea was to see her as Carrie
OK i had no idea what Carousel was about. that's how busy it's been these days, i didn't even cheat with a spoiler.
I think my only R&H musical was the King and I. which i loved, the music, and it's old skool.
Anyhoo, so i went in blind.
I have to say it was amazing. The cast were fabulous, all of them. I think "MM" said it earlier, there really isn't a weak link.
It was soooo great to see Tasha again, it had been almost two years since the Cabaret??!!
It was also nice to see her in something that wasn't MM. Seriously she was amazing as Carrie, and just great to hear her amazing voice singing something other than Abba songs. YOu really get to appreciate her talent.
You'll Never Walk Alone the first time gave me goosebumps.
When they sing it at the end, i swear to God, every hair on my body stood on end. There were no tears from me, but i heard sniffles around.
That was such an incredible number. And Lesley was alright, but i think Alexandra was superb.
ooh the guy to my left was an AMerican and apologised for singing in advance. He sang along
made me giggle.
But when Tasha came out, i swear Kris and i giggled. hahah actually we giggled a LOT when Mr Snow came out too. In fact a lot of the line between Julie and Mr Snow had me in fits of laughter.
I have to say going in blind was great because you didn't know what was going to happen next, so it was one
moment after another.
the guy that played Billy was great.
I have to say all the lead voices were just insanely amazing.
And it was a great show. It was such a fabulous story, sad, and Carrie had some brilliant lines. It was great to see it AT LAST, everyone was aksing me at work, what it was like. I was telling everyone to see it THIS WEEK lol
EPIC!!
Would love to see Tasha in the role as Julie. OK that would actually kill me.
so, Kris and i had a fab time. We didn't think we'd stage door as Kris had to get a train, and i had work the next morning, but one minute turned into another and then it was like "ok she has to come out now" lol and then she came out.
So we had a nice chat with Tasha ;D and then it was over.
Tasha did say there could a cabaret down the line...WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
ok so kill me now, there are talks for a film with HUGH JACKMAN as Billy!!
and i'm still keeping the faith - Tasha as Elphie ;D ;D ;D
ps- Tasha said there were some mistakes, lol at us not even noticing ANY, we're no longer Carousel virgins ;D
OK so i'd totally go back and see it again and recommend it to everyone.
