Having seen the show many times before, this was the first time I had seen the new cast, here's my review:-
The dynamos gave a fine performance, Leanne Rogers was covering for Joanna Munro and Melissa Jacques covered for Linzi Hately, but still didn't have the same sparkle as when Lucy Harris played the role of Donna.
Sky was played by Paul Christopher who seemed to work well with Sophie - Katie Brayben together with the bridesmaids they gave a very good performance.
Bill - Having seen this role played by various actors, it did seem as if the character was stale together with the Australian accent this performance didn't leave me convinced.
Sam - Having seen this role being played by at least five different actors and now Richard Laing ,the performance seemed lifeless and the lines were delivered in a bored manner. It looked like he had tried to copy Iain Fletcher and failed.
Harry - Peter Challis played this role to his usual high standard and was the pick of the bunch.
Pepper - Giovanni Spano - This performance seemed dull and it was like he was reading his lines from a book with no emotion and didn't match the previous Pepper at all.
Eddie - Marc Connell - He seemed to fit in well with the other guys and gave a good display.
The dad's just didn't seem to work together and didn't have any of the chemistry or rapport that the last cast had. It's a 4/10 for me as I left feeling disappointed. I knew the last cast would be difficult for anyone to follow but I couldn't help feeling that Paul Hawkyard, Steven Finch, Iain Fletcher, Ben Heathcote and Lucy Harris fitted into the roles and worked so well together. Bring them back!!!!
