Normally I would agree he looks and is too old BUT since Meryl Streep is just three years younger than he is and does not look a lot younger (yes she looks great for her age, but she certainly does not look like beginning of fourties to fit the casting of Donna properly). The appropiate age to fit the character descriptions as in the actual stage musical clearly seemed not to be important when casting for the movie. And if we are already talking about older guys for the dads, I would like to see William Petersen as Bill! lol |

I don't know who i'd cast in their places, but I don't like the Idea of Meryl Streep as Donna,
she's one of my favourite actresses she just does not possess Donna qualities in my opinion.
And I kind of wanted them to discover a new singing/acting sensation to play Sophie. Not really a fan of Amanda.
