uh it's taken a while..but after the madness of West End Live...here is my review:
and i'm shattered tonight so it's not going on the website til tomorrow i'm not even going to tackle dreamweaver tonight ;D
Can't believe I was here just 3 weeks ago!!
Well, I think I've finally recovered from my Mamma Mia overdose to be able to finally write my review for Friday's show.
The covers were:
Lucy Harris as always was Donna (how many shows are we going for? This was 12 out of 12...BRING IT ON!!!)
Tim Stanley - Eddie
Claire Fishenden - Ali
Peter Challis - Harry
Adriano Agostino - Fr. Alexander
WOW, yet another fant-abulous show. Nice to see the insanity is still there! I thought it might just have been a one off thing - May 26!! Noooooooooooooooo....it's still there, this "SUGAR HIGH" thing!! I'm not complaining I'm lovin' it, it makes me laugh soooooo hard long after the I Do's have been said!!
One highlight definitely had to be Tim Stanley playing the role of Eddie. I felt really lucky that I got to see Tim as Eddie, I think Michaela and I let out an "OMG Tim Stanley is Eddie!" scream (our second one in minutes) when we were standing reading the Covers list by the box office!! The other one being outside the POW as we were watching the video screen and noticed Tasha was on the MM footage "OMG Tasha!" we sure got funny looks from security when we screamed that!
Back to Tim Stanley, what a performance from Tim! his Eddie was highly charged, especially during Does Your Mother Know, both with the dance off and yelling "Come on Pepper" at Ben Heathcote. Boy has Tim got moves and he showed them off during DYMK!!! All the boys were brilliant in this number, and Ben Heathcote was amazing! Also I loved how instead of "taking" off Gareth Derrick's shirt during Lay All Your Love On Me, he "RIPPED" it off and a button went flying into the audience. HA!
Chiquitita and Dancing Queen as always kicked AZZ. Joanna was rockin', she is just sooooooo funny, and just brilliant. And I surprised myself when I actually thought Geraldine's performance was OK for a change. Although a part of me wished Suanne Braun was back on that stage as Tanya.
I loved Lucy's and Joanna's bouncing off the wall madness in Dancing Queen..I think my eyes popped out when Lucy said to Joanna's Rosie "you're rubbish" during DQ!! HAHAHAHAHA
Boy was it was dodge the flying objects today or what?? The deodorant went flying today into the front row! Not too sure who sent it flying??
I was super chuffed Gareth Derrick was on, considering he was ill the next day for West End Livel!! I stopped breathing...or forgot to breath from Lay All Your Love on Me right through to the end of Act One which might have explained why I had the worst headache in the world after the show!!! It all started with speedos and wetsuits!
Wa-Hey Tasha "Permanently Bouncing off the wall" Sheridan is such fun to watch, she is the perfect minx!
OMG i'm gonna say this a gazillion times...Super Trouper kicks serious butt.
Had the perfect combination of dads today. Iain Fletcher, Paul Hawkyard and I was delighted to have Peter Challis on as Harry. He's just so loveable, and I love him during Our Last Summer. And Iain, he was just born to play Sam Carmichael!
The morning after the stag party with the boys and Donna was just great. Gareth, Ben, Tim, and Lucy had me in hysterics.
Loved seeing Tim Stanley throw the chair up in the air and catch it!
Joanna and Paul as always had everyone in fits of laughter for Take a Chance on me, I love watching Joanna in hot pursuit of Paul. They are just excellent and both have excellent comical timing.
Oh my gosh every time I see this show I am loving Iain and Lucy. I loved his Sam's proposal and Lucy's Donna and waiting as the audience got excited saying "Come on!" I was sitting there thinking "Play it Lucy, Play it. Come on girl don't say I Do yet." and her pause today was close to 15 seconds I swear!!! Not that I was counting or anything!!
Everyone was just great, the ensemble were awesome...the talent in this show is a force to be reckoned with...
Talking about Lucy...boy is her talent out of this world!! ...No, I didn't forget her...i just saved the best til last!! She is in a word OUTSTANDING! Her voice, her acting, her emotions...just frickin' outstanding performance every time.
Can't wait til the next show?!!
BTW - I've added the review to the site now...it's slightly different..added in one or two things.
