Greetings all.so my first look at the new guys like Chellie i'm an old hand at cast changes having done six at WWRY and i also decide quickly if the new guys work for me or not.
No Ben or Jane (Louisa on as Tanya) so it gave me an early look at Adam Clayton-Smith as Pepper.
Overall not too bad, lacks a little in the dance routine for DYMK but otherwise works well with everyone, given a choice i would rather they had held onto Ben Jennings as cover.
Quick mention for Louisa who always does a great job as Tanya when Jane isn't around.
Sally Ann - Donna, Mmm!!!! the jury is still out,i felt she was trying too hard and someone should remind her she doesn't have to shout she's wearing a microphone.Vocally she doesn't hold a candle to either Linzi or Melissa.
Katy - Rosie, a nigh impossible task having to follow Joanna in the role but seems to have fitted in well.Good interaction with Christopher for TACOM.
Niamh - Sophie, seemed very nervous at times but still gelled nicely with Jodie,Laura and Oliver.Alittle bit on the weak side vocally which i'm sure will improve over time.A bit wierd hearing a brown haired Sophie singing "Girl with golden hair" in TYFTM.
Christopher - Bill, definately my pick of the new cast, has slotted in beautifully, nice lilting Aussie accent and looks right at home in the role.
Norman - Sam, improved as the show went on but is the weakest of the guys iv'e seen play Sam especially vocally there just doesn't seem to be the power in his voice when needed.
Sam - Eddie, pretty good and seems to have settled in nicely, need to see him alongside Ben as he seemed to overpower Adam at some stages.
As usual there have been a few little tweaks to the script and cast positions on stage.
Good to see my connections with other shows has been maintained with Andy Rees (Ex Spamalot) is a member of the ensemble.
Another visit is definately needed as your views can change after the initial first time with a new cast but on first reflections i think iv'e been spoilt over the last two years and three months with the guys iv'e seen and to be honest this was the first time iv'e left the POW at the end of the show not thinking "Can't wait for my next visit".
