isn't Brilliant enough? ok here ya go
Here goes....hhaaha the cheering started LOOOOOOOONG before we took our seats when we found out our understudy list.
Deryn Edwards as Tanya
Suzy Stanley as Sophie.
As soon as we found that out, you probably could have heard us screaming in Outer Mongolia!!! ;D
Marc Leslie , Nia Fisher, Ben Jennings, Tim Stanley were all swinging.
Nancy Wei George was on as Ali.
oh and what’s the Lucy posse on the loose without Lucy Harris AaW? I wonder what our faces looked like when Lucy told us she had considered calling in sick!?
So ….Lucy Harris as Donna. ;D
Oh and as Rachel Spry has left Leanne Rogers has joined the MM cast.
I have to say without a doubt this was my absolute favourite show since cast change. It was just soooooooo amazing.
There was not one single moment of the show that dropped below fabulous. Seriously! From the moment Suzy Stanley sang the first line "I Have a Dream" I loved her! Gosh she is a brilliant Sophie. She was just the embodiment of Sophie Sheridan in her voice, and her acting. Everything about Suzy’s Sophie was just so good with the emotion she put into singing those songs.
Honey Honey was simply greeattttttttttt, all three Tanya, Nancy and Suzy just worked so perfectly together. Those girls just had so much energy. I loved Tanya Robb’s new word..SHUT UP!” ;D
Money was just brilliant. Deryn certainly made quite an entrance. She came down the stairs and fell!
But Deryn was brilliant. That fall was aceness, it sort of set the bed scene up perfectly for when Tanya was on the bed going “ow!”
Did anyone hear Lucy and co laugh their way through the “Donna and the Dynamos line??” Actually did you hear Lucy laugh her “sooooooooooooo” when she’s saying the “this is so inconvenient” during the MM? Hahahaha. MM was awesome.
Oh and the boys entering..well Michaela and I just got all excited there hahahaha ;D
Thank you for the music- Awesome. Suzy was great. She was sweet.
Chiquitita – What a hoot!
Dancing Queen - was freaking awesome. Lucy, Joanna and Deryn harmonise so well. Their voices just were just so complimentary of each other. Loved loved loved it.
Dancing Queen was just legend. Donna and the Dynamos had Michaela, Kris and I laughing so hard through the whole number.
The bit where Tanya gets up and lifts the front of her dress was so superbly pulled off with such style from Deryn Edwards. Rather than just lift her dress and say "Hello Boys!", she lifted her dress and did a sort of can can dancer thing with it. Oh my goodness… I totally heart Deryn.
Voulez Vous..sorry my eyes were just drawn to David Flynn. Wetsuits! Hello!
The drunk boys before One of Us were just too funny. I think at one point Michaela and I were convinced that Kieran Jae was actually drunk. Kieran as Eddie = brilliance. I forget how brilliant he is at playing Eddie.
Does Your Mother Know: By this point Deryn had exceeded all expections I had for her as Tanya. Deryn, the boys and the girls ROCKED this number to the core!! In recent times for me the number has been about watching Pepper and the boys do their thing. I have truely not enjoyed this number so much since the cast change. It was just ROCKING. Deryn was perfect as Tanya. She was just such fun and was just really good. The flirting between Tanya, the dance off, everything about it was just delivered so well. She just had perfect chemistry with Ben's Pepper.
Slipping. Simply floored me. Suzy in tears. And then Lucy in tears. BELLISIMO!!
The Winner Takes It All is pure love. OK, I know Forum Iain has tried to explain why people laugh when Donna turns to Sam and sings “I don’t want to talk..” but it still didn’t stop Kris and I from exchanging “WTF glances!”. Yes, it bothers me that people decide to laugh. Oh well! I love Lucy in this number, but you all know that. ;D She kicks ass. 13 weeks... oh that's a sad sad thought
OK I DO. We cheered from our seats when Donna said I do! EVERY TIME it gets me. Lucy's pause was loooooooong it was 15 seconds today. HAHAHAHHAHA YAY I counted!
Curtain call...hahahaha Lucy steps out, we jumped out of our seats and cheered our lungs out, then Suzy and we scream our fan girl heads off, Deryn steps out and we continued. I kind of stopped with the screaming because I didn’t want to lose my voice.
The audience were pretty fired up fantastically too, seriously! they (NOT US! ) were clapping along from the get go, from THank You For THe Music. Go audience!
The finale was great. The final final bit was a real hoot. Lucy and Iain were at the back of the stage, and for a split second we all thought, cuz we all so totally think the same thing on that MM wavelength
, that they would just walk off. And once again I was going to be deprived of my favourite moment. SERIOUSLY? oh yeah... then Lucy and Iain just stopped and You could see she was telling him to pick her up and we were just waiting and laughing, when he finally did it, it seemed like ages for him to do it, but it was probably milliseconds. We cheered soooo much when he picked her up and carried her off stage! and then it was over..well not quite....
There are so many highlights at stage door….my heart melts for Lucy, looking back and trying not to laugh my head off, I think she must have thought that she walked out of the stage door and straight into the loony bin.
How funny that Tasha Sheridan haunted us in the form of the guy that sat next to Kris at Tasha's cabaret. Then there was the whole “I took a photo” and me going “You took photos of the show” and he saying “No I didn’t”!! What a laugh! And then he showed us his stage door photo with Lucy and Tasha. aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww. He was funny!
Iain - ”Shall I carry her in?”
to which Kris, Michaela and I all fan girled in unison "YESSSSSSSSS!" ;D ;D ;D
“A girl can not lose her lip gloss!” that made me sound me sound so shallow, but my lipgloss fell out of my pocket and landed right by Lucy's boot when we were in the midst of takin a group shot. ;D
All in all as I said it was the best show I have seen since cast change. Fabulous cast, fabulous show. It just seemed that the cast were on some kind of high, it was infectious, and radiated from the perfomers right through to the audience.
And yes, I’m still laughing about it - the stage door madness, the on stage madness, the post show stuff but…can we stop with the text messages and the emails I’m trying to focus on work people
Ok so i better go do some work then
