sorry it's taken so long...here it is..rushed and done..
You certainly have to give us credit for the creative ways we entertain ourselves whilst waiting. Last time it was “houses out of phonebooths”, this time it was the pictochat on the Nintendo DS. (i was a pictochat virgin).
“SUANNE”
“Look it’s LUCY”
you’d think we’d stop doing that to each other, or you’d think we’d know that joke would be old. But noooooooooo. For the record neither were there.
hahahah and then my misreading of ZOO PEOPLE instead of 200 people. We do have such fun…
Anyhoo the cabaret was fabulous. Tiger Tiger is our post work drinks haunt, so it was nice to go there for a non work related event!
Tasha and Stephanie Nielson were MC’ing. Was it only me or did anyone notice that Tasha’s clipboard matched her dress? What a riot they were. They were both really funny. I loved Tasha’s ALW joke.
Emma Kelly sang a few songs. My memory is failing me so don’t even ask me what songs she sang (maybe I should go watch the videos )….
Louise McCarthy sang an awesome rendition of Heaven by Bryan Adams.
The great thing about cabarets was seeing performers like Emma Kelly and Louise McCarthy sing and you really get to see how talented they really are.
TASHA TASHA TASHA…no words!! She rocked. OMG I’ve had “It’s a fine line” in my head all week in my inner jukebox. Everyone that has seen Tasha perform knows how brilliant she is, she totally would be brilliant as Kate Monster. The only thing missing was the Kate Monster puppet.
So casting directors of Avenue Q, if you’re reading this…TASHA for Kate Monster at next cast change!!! The only thing about the cabaret is it really made me miss seeing her on stage. She’s just fant-abulous. So all those Tasha bashers out there (WoS), maybe you need to go beyond “sensational editing” (I love that) by the BBC and see talent for what it really is cuz you wouldn’t know talent if it smacked you in the face! Let’s hope we see Tasha on a West end stage soon!
The guys were great. Marcus was brilliant when he for No Oliver though. However, Kris and I probably saw several Oliver clones. Our eyes were deceiving us.
The prize draw was fun…the booby prize was a box of salt and vinegar snack a jacks. The guy sitting at the table next to us won it and threw Kris a 6 pack awwwwwwwwwww and the top prizes were theatre tickets - two tickets to WWRY and MM. YAY for Mrs Sheridan winning the tickets to WWRY. Kris and I hoped to win the MM tickets but no luck there…..oh well…
FABULOUS NIGHT! And it was good to hear how much they had raised for Great Ormond Street. YAY!!!
Let’s hope they do another one hahahaha
