It was gonna be such a simple day. 8.55 train from Stockport arriving London 11.06, relax, saunter up to Hackney, see Sophia Ragavelas in panto at 1.30. Left home at 8 to drive to Stockport, a half hour trip in rush hour.....gridlock!!!!! Nothing moving. M60 like a car park!!!! 9a.m, five minutes after I should have been on the train. I'm only about a mile from home. Turn round, debate not bothering going. Decide to go home and get a local train into Manchester and catch a London train there. Heading home...more gridlock!!! Everybody else had decided to turn round too!!! Abandoned the car at the first place I legally could. Walked a mile and a half to Ashton-under-Lyne station, caught the train into Manchester Victoria, taxi over to Piccadilly for the next London train at 10.45, due to arrive at Euston 1.08pm. Only 22 minutes before the start of a show at a theatre I've never been to in a part of London I've never been to!! Well, as luck would have it, we got to London 10 whole minutes early, so it was down to the taxi rank to jump straight in a cab to Hackney. OMG, the size of the queue!! Down to the tube, straight through with my Lobster Card Thingy (Yay! Thank goodness for that) OMG, ten past one already!! Arrive at Highbury & Islington to change trains. Ten minutes to curtain up. Find the eastbound overground platform, check the timetable. Next train 1.25, arrives Hackney 1.32. OMG, this is gonna be close. Train actually gets to Hackney on time. Rush down the ramp from the station pushing people out of the way. Where's the theatre?!!! Ahhh, a signpost...it's this way. Run, knocking over old ladies on the pavement, giving a polite "excuse me please" to the couple taking up the whole pavement lovingly beating the s*** out of each other. There!!! The Hackney Empire!!! It's 1.34. Burst through the door! Yes, they're still getting the stragglers from all the school parties in. Find my seat - sit down - overture begins. Iain was slightly stressed. Thank you for listening to my random rant. You may now continue with your life.

Great, am to go to London on Saturday and am sick at the moment...grrrr..... And WHY does every single radio station here in Hamburg have to play AT LEAST 15 times a day Wham's "Last Christmas" and another 10 times Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas"? As much as I like both songs, after hearing each twice within two hours I just wanna throw my radio out of the window! YOu have to get better anyhoo about Christmas toons..yup i know just what you mean, it;s the same with the music tv channels. NOOOOOOOOooo wait..it's when you go into the shops and every darn store is playing "all i want for christmas is you" i love that song, but hearing it so many times makes me just want to scream... Great now i have those songs in my head well look at it this way....in less than 13 days we won't hear those songs anymore at least for another 11 months

I have a question for all you Londoners (Jazz!!): Is the London eye lit up in red at the moment? I only ask cos I flew over London last night, and there was this big red light near the river that I can only think was the eye (we landed at east midlands so were still quite high at that point) and I think I spotted picadilly too. Sadly was too high to make out the MM theatre! Lol

Slept right through it. Nothing even moved in my house, though people who live near me were saying they'd woken up and one girl even had a TV come off her wall. I've concluded that my house must be built on a rock or something!

There was an earthquake?!! Did anyone feel it? It woke me up. Damned inconsiderate of it I wish I could say it threw me out of bed or something but in reality it just seemed to rattle a few things.....the mirror against the wall, my teeth in the glass by the bed etc I seriously just thought "oh, its only an earthquake" and went back to sleep. To us veterans of the Manchester 2002 quakes, one earth tremor's very much like another. I didn't realise just how serious it was until I saw the news. Apparently, in Yorkshire, the quake caused £1,000,000 worth of improvements ;D

I did the same! Until my mum burst into my room shouting at the top of her voice "Did you feel that?" my replies were "hmmm" "Shhh" "Yehh!" and "I'm trying to sleep" she finally got the hint and left me to it. LOL On a different note. . . I SOOOOOOOOOOO don't want to go to work Really can't be bothered. Barely slept last night. PLEASE Don't make me go I may end up battering one of the PCSO's or PC's today! - hey theres a reason to go to work haha!
