It's still in preview, so in best WOS style I suppose I legally have to say that things may change before the show actually opens, but in the meantime.....what a brilliant time I had watching this. The audience seemed to be mainly made up of regular theatre fans as most people seemed to be very familiar with all the songs and even the standard pre-show announcement got a huge cheer, so you can imagine the rapture which met songs like The Internet Is For Porn. This is a really great show. Fantastic performances, standing out was Ann Harada dominating the stage as Christmas Eve the thelapist with no crients. I know somebody on this board has said that when they get married, they want a dress like Sophie Sheridan. Forget that, once you see Christmas Eve's wedding outfit you'll be ringing the theatre for the costume designer's name ;D ;D Most of the performers occupy more than one character and some nifty puppet interchange is needed when both characters are on stage at the same time but the whole thing works seamlessly and the way the puppets are brought to life is pure theatre magic. The use of TV screens on stage to show Sesame Street style sections of wordplay did tend to take the pace out of the show a little, but they also contained one of the worst, yet funniest puns I've ever seen It's also worth getting back to your seat before the end of the interval for the extra song and a cameo appearance from a comedy celebrity on the screen! This obviously isn't a show for the kid's or for the faint hearted, so if you're offended by the likes of industrial language or puppet intercourse then stay away. If you're not offended then book your tickets now!!! In the meantime, now I've finished this review, I'm off to use the internet in the way it's meant to be used (only joking kiddies ;D)

Before going to see it in August I wasn't too sure what to expect, some of the songs on OBC just put me off, though thought I give it try as the London production has an amazing cast with Julie Atherton, Simon Lipkin, Ann Harada, Giles Terera etc but I loved it that much that am going again next week!

Anyone who hasn't seen this show yet: GO AND SEE IT! It is the funniest show I have ever watched with one of the most amazing cast I have seen in ages! I enjoyed this show last night much more than the two trips to the Apollo!

OMG I wished I could have gone to the cabaret the Avenue Q cast did on Valentine's day - especially after seeing this clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dn8p1aBvyDYKate Monster would make a much better Glinda than Helen Dallimore!!! Kate Monster for Glinda!!!

I was at the show last weekend (March 3rd) and had the chance to see Luke as Trekkie/Nicky.Although he was really good he just doesn't have that little extra "ooomph" that Simon has. For those of you who haven't seen her as "Kate Monster" you should go and see Clare in the role.

OK OK i'm slow..discovering things, it take me a while...first i discover Grey's (What three weeks ago?) and NOW i am no longer an Avenue Q virgin!! I text Michaela that Simon wasn't in....but i tell you something it was still absolutely superb. It's so great having no expectations for something...I tell you what i never laughed so hard in my life...and i really really needed that today. And i was front row too...and the view was just fine. And I have to say for Ian aka "Nazsuncle01" Clare was great, the first thing my mum said was she's got a great voice ;D and i have to agree. and no iain "Lucy's THAT GUY"...i'm not calling the theatre for the designer of the wedding gown in this show ;D PUPPET INTERCOURSE my jaw, and Katherine's who was sitting next to my mum hit the ground....omg i've been corrutped!! ;D it really is a fantastic show, and the performances were top notch. BUt if you haven't seen Avenue Q ...hightail it there cuz it's such a blast. and one final note...OH YES OH MY GOSH YES..Tasha as Kate Monster...i totally had visions of Tasha as Kate Monster!! ;D

So glad you loved the show and Clare as Kate Monster/Lucy.It's just a shame you missed Simon as Trekkie as he was back on Saturday. The front row is def the place to sit to catch a full on view of the action. I was lucky enough to meet Simon and Jon before the show and to catch up with Clare again. ;D If you want to see the current cast performing you have until June 28th except for Naoko (Christmas Eve) who leaves on April 14th to record the next series of Torchwood.

yeah really loved Front row it was a great place to sit....Iain from the forum was up in dress circle the same time i went, and at the end when the new guy comes along and says "F**k YOU!" the cast just burst out laughing...not sure what caused it..but it had me in hysterics. .. ..and i'm gutted i missed Simon as two of my colleagues went to the Sat mat and i was informed that he was back "The David Schwimmer lookalike" was how they described him (gotta love non theatre people) and of course i read your post too... i'd love to see his Trekkie!
yes, i think i'll be going back to Avenue Q...it sooooooooo should be the next forum trip.
